Windsor Essex Down Syndrome Association was formed by a group of loving parents who recognized the need for families with a child with Down syndrome to be well informed. They shared information, support, and a care package. Today, this same charity has grown to five times its original size and works tirelessly to educate families and the public alike.
Reach For The Skye Windsor’s mission is to help developmentally or physically challenged individuals successfully build their knowledge, skills, and values. This enhances their quality of life, improves their ability to gain independence, and promotes their social integration within the community.
Well‑known throughout Windsor and Essex County, Community Living operates a number of group homes that support people with intellectual disabilities and their families. This charity dedicates immense time and effort to enhancing the lives of those they serve. Community Living works closely with each individual to ensure they receive the highest quality care.
Helping abilities grow — that’s what John McGivney does, every single day. Close to 3,000 children and youth across Windsor-Essex come through their doors each year for physiotherapy, speech, occupational therapy, autism services, and family support. It’s the only pediatric rehabilitation centre in our region. Donations help families access the equipment, resources, and care that the government funding simply can’t cover.
