Meet the people building saferstreets, stronger connections, and communities that look out for each other.

Windsor Essex Country Crime Stoppers

Windsor and Essex County’s unsung hero, Crime Stoppers is a charitable organization that receives no tax‑dollar funding and relies solely on donations. It provides completely anonymous tipster communication and offers monetary rewards for information. Most people choose not to collect their reward. This speaks volumes about the goodness and generosity within our community—people stepping forward simply because they want Windsor and Essex County to be safer for everyone.

Downtown Windsor Community Collaborative

Downtown Windsor Community Collaborative is a powerful example of how like‑minded people come together to strengthen and connect their neighbourhood. They are a community themselves—tired of only talking about change and committed to taking action. From Streetwalk to Community Gardens, their many initiatives leave a lasting impression.

Victims Services of Windsor and Essex County

Often overlooked in tragedy is the aftermath. This is where Victim Services of Windsor and Essex County steps in, providing support, information, and referrals. Mostly volunteer‑based, they are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, responding to requests from police services, emergency services, and individuals. Their work continues until each person is set on the right path to healing.

St. John Ambulance (Windsor Branch)

For over a century, St. John Ambulance volunteers have been showing up at Windsor’s events, emergencies, and communities — training people to save lives, running therapy dog programs in hospitals and schools, providing Medical First Response across Windsor-Essex. Canada’s original first aid charity, still going strong on Drouillard Road.

MADD Windsor & Essex County

Every empty chair at a Windsor family table because of an impaired driver — MADD is why that number isn’t higher. The Windsor-Essex chapter raises awareness, supports local victims and survivors, and just unveiled a Memorial Garden on Riverside Drive. Donations go through MADD Canada (charitable registration 139072060RR0001) and are directed to the local chapter.

Windsor Fire Fighters Benefit Fund

Firefighters not only save lives and protect the community from flames—they also face hardships of their own. The Windsor Fire Fighters Benefit Fund raises money to support both the broader community and their fellow firefighters. Run by a group of fun‑loving, big‑hearted people, they welcome causes to support and genuinely give where help is needed.
