Here are the partners offering real support, real care, and real hope when it matters most.
A Windsor staple, Brentwood has positively changed lives within its own community. It’s a place where warmth fills the room, help feels like family, and the opportunity to change is always present. The combination of support, nurturing, firmness, and clear communication is what gives Brentwood its reputation for genuine compassion.
Families are dynamic. There’s a lot going on, and it can be hard to navigate. Family Services Windsor‑Essex understands this and has created a range of programs and supports for families to access. Counselling, homelessness support, financial literacy, elder abuse services, adult protective services, partner assault response, and income‑tax assistance are all available to those who needs them.
Taking a child’s innocence is criminal. It happens in our community, and we need charities like the Windsor‑Essex Children’s Youth Advocacy Centre to help children reconcile what happened and find a path forward. Child abuse, sexual assault, exploitation, neglect, and witnessing domestic violence or substance use expose a child far too early to the darkest parts of the world.
Windsor Residence for Young Men opened its doors—and its heart—to helping homeless young men ages 16 to 24 regain what was lost. Their success rate speaks to the strength of their programs and staff. WRYM understands that giving is important, but teaching is essential.
Understanding the gaps in in‑home health care, VON was formed a century ago to support those who cannot leave their homes. Through regular home visits, they demonstrate compassion, concern, and a genuine commitment to the community.
Windsor’s Downtown Mission began in 1972 by offering coffee and donuts to a few homeless men. Today, they extend their hands to anyone who is disadvantaged or homeless by providing emergency shelter, hot meals, and food packs. Their hearts are as warm as the food they serve, and the impact on people’s lives is truly life‑changing.
One kind act can change the course of history. A group of women who came together to help homeless young females eventually evolved into The Inn of Windsor. Now a large home providing apartments, it houses homeless youth and helps them transition toward successful independence. They work to reconnect youth with their families and promote reconciliation whenever possible.
Sometimes the best person to help a woman is a woman. The woman-centric approach at Windsor’s Welcome Centre focuses on helping each woman who walks through their door. From domestic abuse to homelessness, they devote their time to ensuring a woman and her family is fully cared for and on the path to healing.
HDGH has been quietly doing some of Windsor’s hardest, most important work since 1888 — specialized mental health, addictions, rehabilitation, and children’s mental health. When a Windsor family is facing addiction, a mental health crisis, or a long recovery, HDGH is where they turn. The Foundation funds the programs that government dollars can’t fully cover. Your gift supports recovery, healing, and dignity in the moments that matter.
More than fifty years of standing alongside people when their minds turn against them. CMHA Windsor-Essex is the region’s lead provider of community mental-health services — housing, crisis response, employment supports, advocacy, and the kind of patient, persistent care that says: you are not alone in this. Mental health for all means all.
