Meet the caregivers, researchers, and foundations working to deliver world‑class care close to home.
When your mother needs surgery, when your neighbour is rushed to emergency, when your friend’s baby arrives a little early — they’re cared for at Windsor Regional. The Foundation makes sure the equipment, the research, and the patient care are there when our city needs them most. Every donation strengthens the place that takes care of us all.
One in two Canadians will hear the word cancer in their lifetime — and when Windsor hears it, they go to the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre. The Foundation buys the state-of-the-art equipment, funds the Patient Assistance Fund for families struggling with the costs, and supports Seeds4Hope, our home-grown cancer research. Cure or comfort, hope or healing — every dollar fights for someone’s tomorrow.
When you need them most, the Hospice is already there. Since 1979, two residential homes, twenty palliative care beds, a community palliative medicine program, and a promise: no family pays a cent. They raise $1.9 million every single year to keep that promise. A Windsor institution built on dignity, compassion, and the belief that every life deserves a gentle ending.
When a life-altering illness arrives, the medicine is only half the story. T2B is the other half — 17 comfort-care programs across our local hospitals, run by over 100 volunteers, funded entirely by Windsor-Essex hearts. Music therapy at the bedside. A holiday meal for a family on the palliative unit. A comfort tote during chemo. Small kindnesses that change everything.
Helping abilities grow — that’s what John McGivney does, every single day. Close to 3,000 children and youth across Windsor-Essex come through their doors each year for physiotherapy, speech, occupational therapy, autism services, and family support. It’s the only pediatric rehabilitation centre in our region. Donations help families access the equipment, resources, and care that the government funding simply can’t cover.
Understanding the deficient in-home health care, VON formed a century ago to service those who cannot leave their home. By establishing home visits, it communicates compassion, concern and a genuine love for the community.
