FAQ

Can I select more than Fund?

Yes. You’re welcome to support multiple Funds at the same time. The minimum monthly contribution for your first selected Fund is $10. For any additional Funds, you may contribute as little as $5 per month. This flexibility allows you to direct your generosity where it matters most to you.

How are donations distributed within a Fund?

All donations made to a specific Fund are shared equally among the charities within that Fund. This ensures balanced, fair support for each organization and helps maximize the collective impact of your contribution across the community.

Do the charities included in a Fund ever change?

Yes. Charities within a Fund may be updated from time to time. We regularly review each Fund to ensure participating charities continue to align with the Fund’s purpose and deliver meaningful impact within the community.

Does Givium charge a fee?

Givium retains a Platform Support Allocation of 6.9% to operate and sustain the platform. This enables us to raise funds for charities without requiring any fundraising effort, staffing, or cost on their part—allowing them to focus fully on their charitable work.

How much of my donation goes to the charities?

After standard bank and payment processing costs, and Givium’s Platform Support Allocation, charities typically receive approximately 90% of each donation. For many organizations, this is significantly more efficient than traditional fundraising methods.

Are there ways to reduce processing costs?

Yes. Choosing to donate using a debit card instead of a credit card helps reduce payment processing fees, allowing a greater portion of your donation to reach the charities you support.

Why isn’t 100% of my donation passed through?

Like all online giving, donations incur unavoidable banking and payment processing costs. Givium’s Platform Support Allocation ensures the platform can operate sustainably—raising funds for charities at zero direct fundraising cost to them, which is a major advantage.

Why This Model Helps Charities

Traditional fundraising requires charities to invest significant time, staff, and money—often spending 20–40% of funds raised just to generate donations. Givium changes that.

Through our platform:

  • Charities receive funding without running campaigns, events, or appeals
  • There is no fundraising workload or upfront cost
  • Donations arrive predictably through monthly giving
  • Administrative burden is reduced
  • More energy stays focused on mission and impact

Even after unavoidable processing costs, charities typically receive about 90% of each donation, making this a highly efficient and sustainable way to fund important community work.

Givium exists to help charities do more good—with less effort—and to give donors confidence that their generosity is working smarter for their community.

Do I receive a tax receipt for my donation?

At this time, tax receipts are not available. We have applied to the CRA to become a registered charity, a process that typically takes 12–15 months. While awaiting approval, we’relaunching Givium as a pilot in Windsor to learn from the community. To thank and support our donors, at the end of 2026 we will make a one-time contribution equal to 20% of all donations from Windsor-Essex residents. This amount will be distributed proportionately to each Fund based on the support it received during the year.
